Landscape: Northern Lights 09/03/2016

Living in the North certainly has some perks, and the northern lights, or aurora borealis, is one of them. From Little Limestone Lake, to Pisew Falls and everything in between it has been an eye opening experience moving to the North from the lower mainland BC and Toronto. Not once when I was young did I ever think "Hey, let's move to Manitoba"... but here I am with an amazing opportunity to care for a community and take in the wonder that it holds.

I was harassed to get up and out of bed on the third of September as the sky was clear, and the KP forecast (northern lights forecast) was high and "in the red". Off we went just north of Thompson, and pulled over on the side of the road past the airport. I'm still learning all those little nooks and secret spots - but I am pleased with my scenic choices.

Here are a few shots of the lights that were dancing for me briefly, I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
